Get picked up at your accommodation or harbour, then depart toward Nova Sintra.
Make your first stop at Eugénio Tavares main square, and learn about the history of Morna, a Cape Verdean musical genre internationalized by Cesária Évora and considered Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Take pictures of empty colonial houses waiting for the return of the “Americanos” who have built them for their retirement.
Next, drive through the pretty village of Cova Rodela and reach Mato Grande Village. There, visit Miradouro and enjoy a stunning view looking out over Nova Sintra towards Fogo Island.
Your tour progresses to Mato, from where you will see Fontainhas Mountain, the highest peak on the island.
After that head to Cachaço Village and have chance to see local goat’s cheese production, which the tiny production is usually exported to Santiago Island.
Then, head to the west of Brava and reach Lomba in Tantum, a fishing village where locals go when they want to buy some fresh fish.
If sea conditions permit, take a break and swim in the beautiful warm natural pools of at Fajã D’Água. At lunch, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the city and taste some local delights in a typical restaurant.
The tour finishes with drop-off back to your accommodation.
