Nechisar National Park is one of Ethiopia’s last great surviving wildernesses spanning the narrow yet mountainous ‘Bridge of God’ that separates Lakes Chamo and Abaya. It ranks among the most scenic national parks in East Africa. There’s an air of untamed grandeur that lingers over the lakes and mountains which makes this undiscovered trekking route a must see for nature, bird and animal lovers. You will hike through diverse habitats ranging from thick bush, rain forest, natural springs, acacia woodland, two Rift Valley Lakes to wide-open Savannah. Each terrain offers different wildlife including baboons, Columbus monkeys, surviving herds of Swaynes’s hartebeast, zebras, Grant gazelles, crocodiles, hippopotamus and 350 different bird species. "I absolutely loved my trek in Nechisar, the views are absolutely breathtaking, the wildlife fascinating and the camp dinners were cosy and fun" (2019 customer)
