What you'll see

Korea is a paradise for hikers because of 70 percent of its landscape being mountains, Seoul is one of few cities in the world which has easily accessible mountains in its metropolitan area. With its granite peaks, cliffs, streams and Bukhansanseong Fortress, Bukhansan is the 15th National Park and is the best playing ground for hiking in all seasons. In spring, the leaves of a light green awaits you and blooms all kinds of flowers, and in summer, thick forests cover numerous valleys and clear valley water flows. And the fall is the best season to enjoy autumn colors of red and yellow. In winter, you can enjoy hiking while watching beautiful winter mountains with a sound of stepping on snow.

Bukhansan is reachable by car or public transportation within about 30 minutes from downtown Seoul. The guide will pick you up at a hotel, and move to trailhead of Bukhansan. From the trailhead, you will hike through the beautiful valley where clear water flows. After one hour’s hiking, you will reach to the Fortress wall Gate built in Chosun dynasty located at the ridge of Bukhansan. After a short break, you will visit a Buddhist temple with a thousand year of history on the mountain ridge. We will continue to hike to Baegundae(836m), the summit of Bukhansan, and you will enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Bukhansan and Seoul at Baegundae.

There are a few steep rock slabs on trail, and this hike is moderate. There is another easier path around the track that will be suitable for beginner hikers to follow. It will take a total of about 6 hours to hike including resting and taking pictures. The guide will choose the best trail considering hiker’s ability, experience and preference.

During hiking, delicious Korean hiking lunch, snack and seasonal fruits are serviced by hiking guide. After hiking, we will take you to the hotel. If customer want, there is an option for relax at Korean style spa and for dinner to celebrate the hiking.
