The Cathedral of Cusco. It is the main temple of the city of Cusco, has one of the most outstanding samples of colonial goldsmiths and carved wooden altars. In the cathedral you can also see samples of paintings from the Cusco school and above all the famous image of the Lord of the Earthquakes.
Continuing with the tour, You will visit Koricancha, also known as "Golden Temple or Temple of the Sun God" which was the most important temple for the Inca Empire and on which the Convent of Santo Domingo was built
Following the tour, we will make a stop at the archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman. This complex is strategically built on a nearby mountain from where you can see the entire city of Cusco. It is famous for its huge carved stones, some of which are 9 meters or 30 feet high and weigh more than 350 tons.
Then you will arrive at the archaeological complex of Qenqo, in the Inca time it fulfilled a purely religious function and where it is believed that the Incas mummified their dead.
Continuing with the tour we will visit the archaeological site of Puka pukara which means "red fort"
Tambomachay, located about 8 kms. North of Cusco and very close to the ruins of Puka Pukara, is an archaeological site that is believed was dedicated to the cult of water and where the Inca (king) of the Empire used to retire to rest.
At the end of the tour we will return to the city of Cusco. 14:00 hrs. approx.
