First we cross the Red river by Long Bien bridge – the oldest one in Hanoi built over 100 years ago under French colonial time to enjoy the view of the Red River, watch the boats float underneath and see the green vegetable farm on the island.

2

I live in a small countryside, so the only way for local people to get their daily foods is to go to the markets. There are 2 markets near my house, and they are all located next to a river. Since it lies next to the river, the air is very fresh and we do not smell anything bad. People tend to go there in the very early of the morning, and the busiest time of the market is usually 6 to 7 o clock. If we over sleep and start to go there after 7, there are not many chances for us to pick up the good and fresh ingredients. My village does not seem to have many people, but somehow the markets are always crowded. Sellers here do not have an actual store for each one, but they just simply sit around and build their own kiosks. People from the front sell all kind of fruits, snacks and breakfast, in the middle of the market is for clothes as well as groceries; and at the back is for meat, fish and vegetable. If we had already listed what we need to buy, it only takes us about 15 minutes

3

In the afternoon we will visit Huu Tiep Lake in Ngoc Ha flower Village where an American B-52 that was shot down during the Christmas bombing in 1972, a quieted island in the heart of Hanoi away from the busy streets where farmers growing vegetables and fruits

4

We cycling pass by the city major highlights such as: Hanoi Flag Tower at the age of nearly 200 years is renowned as one of the symbols of the city, Hanoi Opera House, 1000 years old royal Thang Long citadel, Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, Presidential palace, Ba Dinh square, Tran Quoc temple, Truc Bach Lake…

5

Our ride heads to the hundred years old Reunification train track runs through the heart of Hanoi where local residents live only centimeters from it. This is an excellent way to deeply immerse yourself in the local side of busy and exciting Hanoi. Then get your caffeine fix with a unique Egg Coffee before getting back to your hotel at about 4:00pm.

6

Continue we ride to the countryside along the Red River’s banks to take in the stunning beauty of Vietnam’s countryside and see farmers cultivating their lands. We’ll make a visit to a local family making bonsai to learn about this intricate art form and admire some of the stunning plant creations.
