Established in 1829 & in a newly renovated Neoclassic building, this is the pre-eminent Archaeological Museum in Greece which houses the pick of Greece’s Archaeological treasures uncovered over the past centuries. Permanent displays include bronzes such as the famous charioteer, the Antikythera mechanism and first working computer produced by the ancient Greeks 1000 years before anything similar, the Mycenean gold & jewellery horde from the tombs of Agamemnon in the citadel in Mycenae, and countless others.
