Our Private Tour is dedicated to the UNESCO world heritage site of Ancient Olympia. After pickup by your private & informative tour driver, sit back & relax as you set off to enjoy the drive through olive groves & orchards of the rugged Peloponnese.

At the time of your choice, your informative & professional Tour driver will be at your Hotel reception or other residence promptly to escort you on your tour. Heading towards the Peloponnese a first short stop is made to see this amazing work of engineering & learn about its place in history & many historic events

Founded in the 8th century B.C. and famous as for its Olympic games of antiquity you can take your time to explore its extensive ruins which include the places where the original athletes were taught & trained, and go through the tunnel to emerge in the stadium in which they competed. The site is still home to the Temple of Zeus and Hera where the Olympic Flame is lit, workshop of Phidias.

Not to be missed is the modern on-site museum which houses many masterpieces and a large amount of artifacts uncovered from the site, from pre-history to early Christian periods. Its permanent collection includes an almost complete pediment of sculpture from the Temple Of Zeus, a bronze collection & many significant pieces such as the very drinking cup of Phidias, excavated from his workshop & possessing his name in inscription.

At the entrance to the Archaeological site sits this Museum dedicated to the Olympic Games through its historical foundation to the modern day Olympics. With many old & new artifacts you can take an extra journey to learrn about this most important aspect of Ancient Olympia the development of this gift to the world.

Before your return we take the opportunity in visiting the very impressive suspension bridge opened in 2004 for the Olympics in Greece & links the towns of Rio & Antirrio as well as providing a modern connection from the Peloponnese back to mainland Greece
