On meeting your experienced Archaeological guide, you will first tour the Acropolis and all of the amazing monuments including among others, the giant entrance 'Propylaia', 420 BC Temple of Athena Nike, Mythical Erechtheion, as well as the Worlds oldest Theater and of course the PARTHENON, before descending with your guide through the pretty Plaka neighborhood to a Boutique specialist Deli nearby.

MEETING OUR GUIDE. Your guide will be waiting at Makrygianni Street at the Acropolis Metro stop which is just around the corner from the Acropolis Main Entrance.
Our meeting spot provides an ideal perspective from which to view the surrounding wall of the Acropolis built by the earlier Mycenean civilization and to provide you with an introduction to the History of the Acropolis, its importance and role in the life of ancient Greece, and an overview of the temples and amazing monuments you are about to see.
TOURING THE ACROPOLIS AND PARTHENON
Our starts with the Acropolis, focus of life in Ancient Athens surrounded by its amazing Cyclopedian wall built by the Myceneans thousands of years ago. The Acropolis is home to the Parthenon, and many other amazing monuments including the giant entrance 'Propylaia' you will enter through, behind which stood a huge gold encrusted statue of the Goddess Athena which must have struck awe into any ancient visitor.
Once inside your expert guide will explain all of the other monuments including the 420 BC Temple of Athena Nike, Mythical Erechtheion, as well as the other structures including the Theater of Dionysis. Constructed in the 6th Century BC and the worlds oldest Theater, it would have seen the very fist performances of ancient plays by Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus among others. Finally you will tour the Parthenon, widely considered as a masterpiece of science, engineering culture, and the pinnacle of the Greek Classical Period.
1 HOUR FOOD and WINE TASTING OPTION
After touring the Acropolis your guide will descend with you through the pretty Plaka area towards the Main Square of Monisteraki and introduce you to the expert wine (sommelier).
In a cozy and intimate atmosphere, experience various tastings of local products from all over the country, such as cheese, cured meats, olives, and jams, along with three wine glasses of 75ml. This is a great introduction to our Greek cuisine, and it is perfect for first-time visitors.
During your tasting you will have the opportunity to taste indigenous wine varieties, such as Assyrtiko, Xinomavro, Savvatiano but our expert Sommelier can also recommend a selection based on your palate.
At the end of your experience you will be welcome to stay for more if you have time!
1 HOUR OLIVE OIL TASTING OPTION
After touring the Acropolis your guide will descend with you through the pretty Plaka area towards the Main Square of Monisteraki and introduce you to your Olive and Olive Oil Expert who will take you on an aromatic and informative journey through the growth, development, harvest and production of the finest Greek varieties of Olive and Olive Oils.
Tastings involve the exploration and recognition of key aromas which you can sample as distilled aromas, as your expert guide explains their development and significance in the best quality Olives and Oils before you sample Extra Virgin Olive Oils from all over the country. Then accompanied with bread, cherry tomatoes and feta cheese, your guide will then explain how these flavors change on your palate with food. Informative videos and information are also included.
At the end of your experience you will be welcome to stay for more, or enjoy the fine local wine and traditional quality food if you have time!
ENDING YOUR TOUR. Your tour ends at the Deli which is just a block away from the central Square of Monastiraki. You will be warmly welcome to stay for longer perhaps to sample further foods & Wine, or continue on your own to enjoying the sights of the City!
