Stroll through its streets, temples, markets, and fountains in the footsteps of the Classical Greeks, Ancient Romans & St. Paul before you. A well-preserved and interesting site with a mix of Classical Greek and Roman remains.
ANCIENT MYCENAE.
The imposing remains of Ancient Mycenae are one of the most important sites in the development of Ancient Greece. Not only central to the ‘Mycenaean period, from 1600 to 1100 BC which formed the first major widespread civilization in Europe at the time, but also home to the palace of the legendary Agamemnon, leader of the Greeks during the Trojan War. Passing through the 20-meter wide city walls, entering through the gigantic lion's gate and exploring Agamemnon’s throne room and associated Toombs of the site with their huge construction is an amazing experience. Excavations of its various Toombs to date have uncovered over 15Kg of gold and other famous & priceless treasures, many of which you will see in its modern on-site museum including Agamemnon's death mask.
EPIDAURUS GREAT THEATRE
The UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios, first healing centre of the Ancient World is where we also find the impressive Theatre of Epidaurus, one of the most visited ancient sites in Greece. The temple and theatre date from the 4th century and feature masterpieces of classical Greek architecture. Join the other visitors who test its world-famous acoustics with a poem or a song in the center circle.
NAFPLIO.
One of the most beautiful towns in Greece, the historic port city of Nafplio sits by the sea and has a definite artistic feel with enchanting narrow streets of Neoclassic & Venetian architecture, upmarket local craft & clothes shops. Its seafront is packed with cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes with views to the Venetian castle of Bourtzi in the bay. Time to pick up a souvenir, or just enjoy wondering through its pretty streets.
OLIVE OIL ESTATE.
Visit a traditional family-run Olive Estate in the heart of the Peloponnese, your visit involves a walk through the olive orchards and the Estate in the company of the in-house experts who will provide a knowledge journey on the cultivation of the olive tree, the history of the Estate and the Greek olive oil heritage and culture. Learn how it is produced, classified and experience a unique olive oil tasting, where you'll learn to recognize the different characteristics of each olive oil and get cooking tips!
Learn about the health and dietary benefits, its central place in the 'Mediterranean diet' and experience tasting of various oil to appreciate the subtleties of production through aspects of harvest times and production methods in order to achieve specific levels of flavor and quality.
