About this experience

Kazbegi tour goes through several cultural places, such as: Jvari Monastery, Ananuri fortress and Gergeti trinity church. It`s mostly driven through the mountains (3500-5000m ASL) of The High Caucasus. During the tour You`ll get a chance for several nature stops, such as: Zhinvali Reservoir, view point at Jvari pass and Gudauri ski resort (in the winter time). What you'll see

The first stop at Jvari church will allow us a visit to the cultural heritage of the world (6th century) and amazing views on the mountains and an old capital city of Mtskheta. You`ll be told a historic background of the church and the old capital city as well as ancient history of Georgia. Later we`ll move to the Great Georgian military highway and reach over 400 Y.O., well preserved fortress of Ananuri, with the beautiful background of the Pre-Caucausus mountains and Zhinvali lake. You`ll see all the bauty of the historical heritage and hear some interesting stories about the history and description of the carvings around the central church of the place. After this we can start thinking about our lunch and make a stop at Pasanauri village, place known as a the best spot for Georgian dumplings, or just have quick snack at Gudauri ski resort "Smart" cafee shop. After Lunch we`ll continue driving to Jvari pass (about 2400m ASL) and make a stop at the view veranda. After veranda we`ll get a chance to taste a natural mineral spring and walk around balks of the minerals, built by the springs throughout the millenniums. Later, we`ll continue moving to Kazbegi town (new name Stepantsminda) and see that Natural environment is drastically changed. In kazbegi town we`ll drive to the Gergeti trinity church (2200m ASL) with an amazing backgropund of Kazbegi mountain glaciers (5047m ASL). Walk around the Gergeti mountains for a while and later start driving back to Tbilisi. 

Notice: In case you feel like visiting Dariali gorge or Gveleti waterfall, we can little bit extend duration of our tour, with no problems.
