About this experience

A 9-hour private tour takes you to the most beautiful and less crowded Chuxi Tulou. Explore the "missile base" which is a mistake made by foreign intelligence when they observe this area by satellite. Detailed itinerary

After breakfasts, your private guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby. Sit back and relax in a well maintained, air conditioned non smoking private vehicle for a 3-hour drive. You will learn from your knowledgeable Tulou travel guide about the history of the Chuxi Tulou(Hakka Earth Buildings), the local life of the Hakka people, some basic facts of the earth buildings you will visit and other things you should know for this tour.

Arrive at the Chuxi Village, you will first go to the observation deck to have a panoramic view of Chuxi Tulou, which had been mistaken for flying saucers or missile base by foreign intelligence before. Cross the Chuxi river you will then go to a local Hakka family to have a traditional Chinese lunch. Enjoy the local Hakka food and their special home made rice wine!

After lunch you will visit the Jiqing Building which has a history of more than 580 years. Have a try on those stairs only built with wood, not a single nail is used. You will then visit the "Hakka Folk Museum" inside of the building to learn more about the Hakka people, local customs and the Hakka Earth Buildings.

Go out from the museum,  you will continue to explore the other buildings with various shapes like the square Shengqing Building, round Shanqing Building, Gengqing Building and hexagon Gongqing Building.

You will have a chance to visit the local primary school in the village and have an interaction with the pupils.

After the tour,  you will have a good rest on the comfortable vehicle during the 3-hour drive back to Xiamen. You will be transferred back to your hotel, airport, train station or any other places in downtown Xiamen like a restaurant or a bar if you like.
