Distance from Ninh Binh to Cat Ba island is approximate 190 kilometers and it takes about almost 4 hours driving (including road transfers plus ferry transfer). There is no direct road between Ninh Binh and Cat ba island. To travel from Ninh Binh to Cat Ba island, you need to go by vehicle to Dong Bai ferry station and from here you can go either by cable car or by ferry to the other station located on Cat Ba island (the isolated one). And then you continue anothet 25 - 30 minutes driving to the Cat Ba town.
