If you’re on a tight schedule this program is ideal to see the highlights of Cuenca city and Cajas National Park
You’ll start the day visiting Cajas National Park, one of the most beautiful natural sites in Ecuador. Its landscapes, flora, fauna, and more than 230 lakes, makes it an essential place to visit.
After hiking with amazing views, you will return to Cuenca for lunch and a guided tour of the historic center, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and see places like the new and the old Cathedral, the 10 de agosto market, Turi Viewpoint and the famous Panama Hat (Straw hats) factory. Because, as a matter of fact, all Panama hats are proudly manufactured in Ecuador! We will tell you all its history while on tour.

Only 45 minutes from Cuenca, Cajas National Park is one of the highlights while you visiting the southern area in Ecuador.
It is a Natural paradise if you like photography, hiking and birdwatching. In our hike we will show you endemic plants, birds and breath-taking landscapes all around La Toreadora Lake, located at 11,000 ft. above sea level.
If time and weather conditions permit, we will also stop at Tres Cruces viewpoint (one of the highest points at 12,200 ft. for magical views around the park).
At the end of the hike you will enjoy a delicious cup of Chocolate and a traditional potatoes soup, before we head back to Cuenca City.
Upon arrival in Cuenca, we will start our walking tour visiting the historical sites of the City such as: Calderon Park, New Cathedral, Flower Market, 10 de Agosto Market and the Modern Art Museum (Remigio Crespo Toral). It might take 2 hours total to explore all the sites mentioned before. And at the market you will have the chance to try some local fruits and local snacks as part of Cuenca tradition.
Then, we will take you to Turi viewpoint (which means "brothers") to see Cuenca city from above 10,000 ft.
Finally, it is time to show you the Hats Museum and Factory, which is one of the most important attractions of the city, you will get to know how locals manufacture from the scratch until is ready to be exported or who knows ready for you!
At the end of the tour, we return to your hotel or if you have to catch a flight we can drop you off at the Airport for free.
