About this experience

Discover authentic, fresh, traditional food in non tourist, hidden spots of the City! Food and places you may not find alone!
Visit local streets where we see, taste and shop for cheese, cured meat, fruits, sweets and spices in markets of colour, scents and noise. Taste olives, oil and honey from a farmer and local wine made on site.
4.00pm tours will see ΜΟST of the market as it starts to close. Sundays the markets ARE SHUT so we visit a taverna and eat traditional food with ouzo and local wine. Visit a delicatessean and a spice shop and a producer of olive oil and honey. You will also enjoy Greek coffee and yogurt from a local producer.
20+ tastings offered including sit down meals of meat and fish on all tours. Learn about Greek culture and meet with the locals.
Vegetarian, vegan, GF options available. Vegan not available on Sundays.

What you'll see

We will meet at 10.30am at Monastiraki Square where we will begin our Athens adventure.  Let us introduce you to this wonderful city as we take a stroll through the real areas of Athens, away from the usual tourist places, tasting traditional Greek food as we go.

Visit the areas where Greeks  buy their food every week and meet Athenians who know and love the amazing city of Athens.

Experience 11 different  foods whilst  learning about Greek culture and lifestyle.

Our tour lasts around 4 hours as we take a stroll through the markets and streets. We will visit the non tourist food markets  and will end our trip at a wonderful, traditional taverna where we will enjoy a meze meal with Greek wine.
**Markets are shut on Sundays so we will spend time  seeing the changing of the guards at Houses of Parliament, eating  sweets and enjoying a Greek coffee instead.**
