Overview

The Homomonument is a memorial dedicated to homosexuals who were persecuted throughout history. It is located in the center of Amsterdam, near the Westerkerk church, at the edge of the canal ring. It consists of three large pink triangles of granite, which are placed in an L-shape.

It is the first monument in the world to commemorate homosexuals who were persecuted during the Nazi regime and later during the political trials in the Netherlands.
